Money & Payments

How instant payment systems and AI agents actually work: Pix in Brazil, and how Nim finds savings, explains investing, and guides your decisions.

This cluster covers two different kinds of infrastructure that both do the same thing: remove friction from moving and managing money. Pix is Brazil’s instant payment rail, processing 63.8 billion transactions in 2024 across 170+ million users, and it is the clearest real-world example of what an instant, universal payment system looks like at national scale.

Nim is Liminal’s version of that same idea applied to financial decisions rather than payments: it can learn, invest, and save on your behalf, explain what’s moving a stock before you buy it, and find the idle cash and forgotten subscriptions you would otherwise miss. Both Pix and Nim solve the same underlying problem: manual, friction-heavy money management does not scale to how people actually live and spend.
